Lice!

As you may have heard, there have been some cases of lice in the school. Today the students read a book with Mme Dickens and we discussed ways to prevent spreading lice. Please be aware of this and encourage your child not to share anything that comes in contact with their heads!

Welcome to a new year!

Hello families! Welcome to a new year of school. We are off to a great start, getting to know one another and reviewing many concepts, getting ready for new learning! A calendar will be sent out soon with a lot of information about upcoming events for September, and we will also try to post relevant things on our blog to help you keep up to date.

Each year, in support of the kindergartens learning their colours in French, the school is invited to wear their colour of the day! This year, the schedule will be:

  • Monday, September 21 – rouge (red)
  • Tuesday, September 22 – bleu (blue)
  • Wednesday, September 23 – jaune (yellow)
  • Thursday, September 24 – vert (green)
  • Friday, September 25 – orange (orange)

  • Monday, September 28 – brun (brown) **picture day**
  • YOUR CHILD DOES NOT NEED TO DRESS IN BROWN :)
  • Tuesday, September, 29 – rose & violet (pink & purple)
  • Wednesday, September 30 – gris (grey)
  • Thursday, October 1 – noir & blanc (black & white)
  • Friday, October 2 – arc-en-ciel (rainbow)
Your child is welcome to join in the fun by wearing these colours!

En français, s'il vous plaît!

This afternoon we have started a points system to encourage the class to speak French. I am especially looking for students to speak French not only to their teachers, but to each other! We have only been at it for a few hours, but I am blown away by how much many students are able to put together to express themselves in French - Bravo!!

Pokemon cards are great at home!

Hello families! Due to recent problems with Pokemon cards, we are now asking that Pokemon cards stay at home and do not return to school for the rest of the school year. Thank you for your support of this!

Meet our tadpoles!

We have had the opportunity to have some tadpoles (les têtards) join our class. We are observing them as they grow and change, and are learning about their life cycle. We are just starting to see the start of tiny legs on some of them.
