Wacky Word Friday!   January 16, 2015

Room 2-11 wore 225 words to school that day!  We had lots of fun reading the words on our clothing. Some words were even in different languages!  We love to read!

We are looking forward to the last 2 weeks of 'I Love To Read Month' at Ecole Robert Browning.

January is "I Love To Read Month"

January is 'I Love To Read Month' at Ecole Robert Browning.  We are enjoying many special reading events and activities.  There was a 'J'aime lire' kick off assembly on Jan. 9.  'Wacky Word Friday' was on Jan. 16.  The students and teachers of Room 2-11 wore 225 words on our clothing!   Friday, Jan. 23 is 'Red, White and Read Friday' when students can wear red and/or white clothing to school and we will celebrate Canadian authors.  Thursday, Jan. 29 is 'Beach Day'.  Students are invited to dress for a day at the beach!  That evening is a 'Beach Party' for Literacy Evening in the school gym from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.   Finally Friday, Jan. 30 is 'Pyjama Day' when students can wear their comfy PJ's, housecoat, slippers etc. and bring one stuffie to school if they like.   We will be having a very special presentation by the Prairie Theatre Exchange entitled 'Munsch upon a Time' from 2:00 to 3:00 in the school gym. We are looking forward to all of these fun filled literary activities!

Parents/grandparents are invited to come to the classroom and read a favourite story to the class during the last 2 weeks of I Love to Read Month.  Please email Mme Kirk at skirk@sjsd.net if you would like to be a guest reader in room 2-11.

The students have been doing a fantastic job doing their home reading and exchanging their books on a regular basis. Keep up the great work!

Happy reading!
